Female landlords 'more supportive'
Female landlords who have invested in property are generally more
likely than their male counterparts to treat tenants as customers,
according to the National Landlords Association (NLA).
Various differences have been noted in the way that men and women
property owners conduct their business, but lady landlords were
said to show this extra concern for tenants.
In a statement released this week by the NLA, it was suggested that
female landlords offer "better communication and a more supportive
approach to dealing with their tenants".
This was one of many publications released by the NLA this month -
all of which have been produced to publicise the forthcoming 2009
Property Women Awards.
Organisers hope the event will showcase women's contribution to
property investment over the years, while at the same time
rewarding them with a number of individual prizes.
In addition to the overall Property Woman of the Year Award, there
will be gongs for successful young females in the industry and the
greenest professionals. The Association of Residential Letting
Agents will sponsor the Young Property Woman of the Year
Award.
