House builders moving towards larger homes

More people are now looking to buy larger houses instead of flats
in the city centre, which means that the house building industry is
moving towards these property types instead of the smaller
structures.
Steve Turner, head of communications at the Home Builders
Federation (HBF), said that the change was all down to planning and
demand.
"House builders build what the market demands and we have
definitely seen a shift away from city centre apartments and flats
to larger family homes."
It was reported earlier this week that Knight Frank has discovered
that the majority of people are now seeking out family homes when
renting because they now see their house as a long term place to
stay rather than just a stop gap before they move to buy their own
home.
It said that 87 per cent of the market is showing a demand for four
and five–bedroom houses.
