Now 'a good time to buy houses for sale'

Now is a popular time to purchase properties for sale in the UK, a
new report has shown.
The Building Societies Association (BSA) released its Property
Track December 2010 today (December 15th 2010), which revealed that
43 per cent of people think it is currently a good period to buy a
home.
It also found that 2011 could be a prosperous year for the housing
market as 59 per cent of survey respondents said they would buy a
property immediately or within the next year if they had sufficient
resources.
The report showed that a further 11 per cent would become
homeowners in the following 12 months.
Paul Broadhead, head of mortgage policy at the BSA, said: "The
public does not expect house prices to fall as dramatically as they
did two years ago. As such, many expect that the best time to enter
the market will be in the next year."
Findings from the Financial Services Authority's Mortgage Lending
Data could encourage potential homeowners to get on the property
ladder after it revealed that the value of mortgages lent out to
people rose in the third quarter of the year.
